Logging In

UCR Faculty, Staff, and Students - Log in with your Net ID and password.
External Users - Log in with your email address and password. Contact the facility manager establish log in credentials.

Operator Note: It is possible for an account owner to set up an operator as an external user, even though the person has a NetId. In such a case, either use the assigned credentials or contact the facility manager for further assistance.


Recording the Use of NEMF Resources

1. UCR Faculty, Staff, and Students - Log in with your Net ID and password.
    External Users - Log in with your email address and password.
2. Choose the relevant account if you are member in multiple accounts, otherwise continue with the next step.
3. Click "System Logs".
4. Click "New Log Entry".
5. Choose the relevant category, e.g. "Instruments", "Materials" or "Services". 
6. Fill in the required information in all fields.
7. Click "Save".
8. Click "Log Off" to exit.


Creating An Account

Faculty and staff will see an option called "Accounts." Do the following to create an account.

  • Select the "Accounts" option.
  • Click the "Create New Account" button.
  • If you are a faculty member who is setting up your own account, select option 1.  Otherwise, select option 2.
  • Account Detail Tab
    • In the "Financial contact" field click "Search", input the last name of the staff person who will manage your account.
    • Under the "Staff" tab find the person you are searching for, click on the name and it will be assigned as your Financial contact.
    • Enter (or have your financial contact enter) your COA billing information.
    • Click "Save Account Data"
  • IMPORTANT!!!
  • To activate the account click on the red "Request Approval" button.
  • Click on the button "Submit Account for Approval"

Adding An Operator
  • Use this option only if you want to have a member of your group or yourself to be able to operate specific equipment in NEMF.
  • Only account owners or authorized Financial Contact personnel can add, request, and/or delete operator access.
  • To request an operator access to NEMF instruments and/or methods for members of  your group
    • login into your account
    • click "Accounts"
    • click on your account name, this brings up the "Account Management" page
    • select the "Instrument Operators" Tab.
    • Click "New Operator"
    • Search for faculty, staff or students and when selected, many of the input fields will automatically be populated.   Alternatively, click "Add Person Manually" to enter operators manually.  Note, all non-campus operators will need to be added manually.

    • Once an operator is set up:
      • Under "Instrument Operators" tab choose "Instrument Access" for the specific operator.
      • In the "Instrument Access Request" page, check the specific "Request Access¿ box  and if needed "Instrument Option" box(es) to define the instrument access for that operator.
      • Click "Save"

  • Requesting Access for a specific operator represents an official request by the account owner to the NEMF staff to start a training procedure and give access to that operator on the specified instrument/method. The NEMF manager will enable the requested access only after successful completion of the training process by that operator.

    • Click the "Request Approval" button to request account approval.  This action also authorizes NEMF to bill the provided COA account for all the charges incurred by the operators assigned in your account. You will be notified by email when your account has been approved.
  • To remove an operator, select "Instrument  Operators" tab click the "Delete" button for the specific operator.
  • To add a new operator in already approved account follow the instructions above for a New Operator. 
  • It is the responsibility of the account owner and the Financial contact person assign to each specific account to maintain a valid COA account info at all times. Failure to do so may result in extra penalty charges to be billed to that account.

Operator Information

If a user has been selected to be an operator on at least one approved account, then he/she will have access to the "System Logs" option.


Checking Log History

Login to your account. After logging select  "System Logs", in "Log History" select the "All Logs" button.

This will display all logs for all users for the current account.
